Several temples, shrines, courtyards, and a palace inside Durbar square exhibit the art and architecture of the medieval era. Boudhanath Stupa, located 8 km east of Kathmandu, stands out amongst the most monumental tourist spots in Kathmandu. The stupa of Boudhanath is 36-meter-high, making it one of the biggest stupas in South Asia. With infinite religious communities surrounding it, Boudhanath is Nepal’s focal point of Tibetan and Nepalese Buddhism.
